Donald Trump polling: His support is steady; his lead over Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson is not.
Josh Voorhees at Slate makes an interesting assertion when looking at Donald Trump’s poll numbers this week. It’s not that he’s hit his ceiling. Maybe he has hit his floor. Meaning: no matter how bad things get for him, he’s never going to poll below 25% or so of the electorate. That’s how many people will follow him to hell and back, and they’re not going to vote for anyone else.
Voorhees summarizes his analysis saying, “Given that, it’s still premature to look at his shrinking lead and say we’re currently watching the beginning of the end for Trump. I think, given his relatively static support, we might just be looking at the end of the beginning. The big question is what happens next.”
